gebr has a special project they are involved in. We have need of head boards and foot boards. Any size will do. If you have any you are getting rid of or know of somebody who is replacing theirs, let us know. We will gladly take them off your hands.
GEBR is holding their annual fundraiser at the Kingsburg Swedish Festival and Waddle.
We are looking forward to seeing everybody in beautiful Kingsburg, CA. We will be waddling in the parade. There will be a raffle table with a wide variety of items and a drawing for airline miles with Southwest Airlines. We will be providing lunch for $5.00 a plate. There will be contests for best hat, best costume and best wagon. There will be awards for the top three places in each catagory. There will be a memorial balloon release to honor those who have gone to the bridge.
Plan on attending but don't have a hound to walk in the parade? No problem, we will have our rescue hounds there who will need somebody to walk them.
Can't attend this year but still want to donate to GEBR? You do not have to be present to have a memorial balloon released. The balloons are $5.00 each and we will write whatever you want on your balloon(s). You can also buy tickets for the airline miles. The tickets are $5.00 each. We will need to bring in a minimum of $200.00 in order to give out the airline miles. If we do not reach the $200.00 goal, the drawing will become a 50/50 drawing.
Please plan for any weather. It has been hot, cool and everything in between. Plan for the comfort of you and your hounds. Bring chairs, blankets and plenty of water for your hounds. We will be serving sandwiches, chips, beans and water for lunch. If you have any special dietary needs you will need to plan accordingly. The parade route is a little under a mile in length. We do not know yet if we will be able to have a pooped pup pickup. If your hound will have trouble with the length of the route, you will want to provide a wagon or other suitable transportation for your hound. Hounds will need to be under the control of their humans at all times. Hounds will need to be up to date of their shots or have proof of titers. Memorial Park is great and has established trees offering lots of shade.
If you would ike to volunteer, have any ideas or would like to donate some items for the raffle table, contact Jill at jpx@sbcgobal.net

Maggie is a 2 1/2 year old basset hound. She is spayed and up to date on her shots. Maggie has been moved from home to home quite a bit in her young life and as such she is a bit timid when meeting new people and dogs. We would not recommend Maggie for a home with very young children. Maggie prefers women over men and her personality is best described as moody and pouty. She will test the boundarys and rules. Maggie will need a stable routine and home life.&nb...read more about Maggie

Gus has found himself needing a new forever home for the new year. Gus is in a home with other dogs but is having trouble getting along with a couple of them. Put it down to a personality clash. Gus is currently in his home due to our lack of foster homes. If you are interested in Gus, please fill out an adoption application and we will put you in touch with the current family. Gus is good with kids and most dogs but would probably be best being an only dog.
Daisey was found as a stray. She is a quiet girl who is waiting for her forever home. Daisey is a mature girl and loves to spend time with her humans and snuggle on the bed and couch. Daisey gets along well with humans and other dogs. She will chase cats and is in training for field trials. Daisey went to the Basset Hound Club of Southern California's Field Trials this Feburary. With no training, our little Daisey took first place in her class. Way to go...read more about Daisey
