The FIRST STAGE in surrendering your hound is to complete the SURRENDER QUESTIONNAIRE. 

This form is the final stage in the surrender of your dog to Golden Empire Basset Rescue for rehoming. By completing and submitting this form you are transferring ownership of your dog to Golden Empire Basset Rescue. We will ask you to complete this form as soon as your previously completed surrender questionnaire has been reviewed and your dog accepted for rehoming. We will try to have you fill the release form in on the day that your dog will be transferred to our care, to make the legal transfer of responsibility as accurate as possible.

If you complete this form BEFORE we have verbally accepted your dog for rehoming, the release form will have no legal basis.

Golden Empire Basset Rescue is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to finding permanent homes for surrendered, lost or abandoned Basset hounds.

We rely on many devoted volunteers that donate their time and money to shelter, feed, transport dogs to new homes, conduct interviews and home checks for prospective adopters, etc.

Be assured we will find the best possible home for your Basset Hound.

Sadly, many bassets arrive in our rescue that are in need of medical attention, and it is possible that your own hound will need money spending on him/her before a permanent adoption placement is made.  Please consider making a financial contribution to assist in the care of these animals.
